Intellectual property theft is defined as the stealing of any type of commercial or artistic idea to which a person can claim ownership. Examples of intellectual property include product designs, blueprints, logos, brand images, copyrights, original content, recipes and more. Your intellectual property is what separates you from your competition, so as a business, it is important that you do everything you can to protect it.
In many cases, victims of intellectual property are unaware of the crime until they begin to see the results of the perpetrator profiting from that crime. The crime itself could be a minor act of plagiarism or a hack into a company’s network to find trade secrets. Either way, it is a significant crime that must be dealt with and our investigators at PSI have extensive expertise in this area.
