Brent Jex joins Panther SI as a 20 year law enforcement professional. His career has provided him with a vast amount of experience, including assignments as a gang investigator, fugitive investigator, narcotics and frauds. He has conducted numerous federal investigations and is experience in all aspects of surveillance, both physical and digital. Brent is a Force Science certified analyst in conducting use of force investigations. He has certifications in counter-drug, interview and interrogation, homicide investigation, tactical shield operator, street crimes, and force on force instructor. He is fully trained in crisis communication, advance vehicle contraband concealment, field training, human trafficking and instructor development.
Brent is the recipient of several awards and commendations, such as the ATF Award for Firearms Investigations, United States Attorney’s Office Citation of Commendation for a federal RICO case, multiple Unit Citations for cooperative investigative efforts during several high profile cases and the Utah Public Service Award. Brent spent much of his early investigative career working with Brett and Juan, learning from their vast experience. Brent spent the past 15 years as a senior instructor for the Utah Police Academy and SLCC. He developed, and has taught, the Utah POST Field Training Officer course since 2010. He has served as the state president for the Utah Fraternal Order of Police since 2012.
